I posted a message to Vaggelli some time ago, tucked into the discussion of movies and shows that contain shoulder rides. I don't know whether anyone noticed it, but it's such a mystery that I thought I'd bring it up again, separately:
It amazes me to hear that I'm the only female club member. Hard to believe. I wonder if it's a cultural lag. Nowadays women are lawyers, doctors, surgeons, firefighters, welders (I know one female welder anyway), and lots of other things that used to be restricted to men. Could it be that women in general are still really shy about acknowledging the way they feel about things that give them enormous pleasure, things that men have no trouble at all discussing at length? I guess I've never been much of a "go-alonger." I like to decide things for myself rather that slip consciously or unconsciously into patterns of behavior that don't make much sense to me. I have no hesitation at all about acknowledging the fact that riding shoulders is lots of fun and actually quite stimulating. I'm sure that many of the male members have known women who feel the same way I do when they are astride their partners, but perhaps they think it's unladylike to admit as much. That makes no sense to me at all. I also think that Bach's Concerto for Two Violins is absolutely heavenly. I see no reason to hide that fact either. What do you suppose accounts for the difference?
Liz
P.S.: Could some of you guys who have wives or girlfriends who like to ride you regularly persuade them to share their thoughts with us? There's certainly no harm in it and it would be fun to be able to compare notes on riding events and people's reactions to them.

Liz, that is an excellent idea. I'm sure there must be at least a few of our members here who have wives and girlfriends who appreciate the activity of shoulder riding and would like to share their thoughts with us.
Regarding women's views of shoulder riding, I have had several gorgeuos women riding my shoulders but they did it because they knew I got turned on by it. But one of them actually told me once that she loved it but I don't know now if she really meant it or just wanted to excite me, we didn't do it enough times to make me sure about this.

Ciao Liz
Excuse me for my english.
I have much reflected on why women not admit to love shoulderrides. And I have written many times on this argument. My question is: really women like to ride on shoulders? Or for woman is important beauty, jewels, child, etc ? I have always hoped that women really love ride on shoulders: but I'm man, and cannot know. There are women who love shoulderride, like you or Jill. But other women? Your opinion is very important, because you are a woman, and this mean that women who love ride on (men's) shoulders is not a man's fantasy. Thanks. But is easier to offer an ice cream to a woman than a shoulderride. I think this is because the feminine character is more delicate than that of a man. If we find a woman who love ride on our shoulders, this is a treasure to store jealously.

In general fetishes are male oriented fantasies and in most cases the woman participates because she loves the man or is being paid to or otherwise desires to make him happy.
I think in fact that some of the "women" we've seen over the years in these groups were actually men getting their jollies.
A minority of women will sit your shoulders to see at a concert or a parade, but not as a sexual experience. And (believe it or not!) most guys who indulge them at concerts consider it a favor or even a burden.
Pool fun is simply that, momentary play or fun that's quickly forgotten by the woman. But for us fetishists, it's a long, lingering and wonderful memory.
Those who seriously want to live the fantasy should: enroll in a college and take up cheerleading, or if older join a community cheerleading all-star squad, or learn to waterski and join a showski team, or become a professional dancer. When it becomes a vocation like these, it is a more like work than play, but the fun is still there underneath. It's well worth the effort.

Jeff, I'm sure you're right in a lot of cases, but there are two or three details I'd like to add. There are certainly women like myself who did, in fact, take up cheerleading in high school and college, and enjoy a lot of shoulder rides that way, and loved every one of them. and still get a real kick out of riding. It's not unique. I've received e-mails from several couples (some with photos) who say that shoulder riding is part of their lovemaking. One thing about female anatomy is that we can, in fact, be really turned on by riding without it being as obvious to anyone as it would be if we were men. It's an advantage in more ways than one. For instance, if you visit a horse farm, you'll probably find that the majority of people who like riding bareback are female. (I've always loved horses, and I'm even comfortable jumping bareback.) For me, a shoulder ride in the water at the beach or in the pool is always very stimulating, and riding at a rock concert in time to the music is big time stimulation. Of course the most enjoyable rides for those of us who do find them stimulating is when we get to ride partners for whom the feeling of a rider on their shoulders is stimulating too, and we can share the fun in a special way. ![]()

Dear Liz and others:
I appreciate that you do communicate with us guys. I notice the names of three women on the members' list besides Liz's. There may be more. I did not look too closely. They have not communicated much so it appears. Naming them may scare them off so I fear.
My apologies if I am writing beneath the intelligence of many but I think women are simply afraid of men in general due to the amount of rape and violence sustained from men over millenia and prefer to ride only on the shoulders of men they know and feel safe and comfortable with and would certainly usually avoid contact with men they do not know such that I am not surprised that few women participate in our discussions or that very few women participated in the Shoulder Riding Club in Canada.
It appears that most gals love riding on shoulders and backs of guys they love as usually evidenced by gals's squeals of delight and giggles of pleasure and joy when piggyback or shoulder riding on their guys.
I am one guy who feels rewarded when a gal smiles, giggles, squeals with delight, at what I do for her such that all these certainly serve as her behavioral management tools as does a fish for a dolphin or seal that performs tricks. Hugging me and kissing me (even if it is only on the cheek of my face as it should be for she who is not my wife that I have been happily married to for twenty-six years ) after the performance also works as petting a dog after it exhibits a desired behavior. On the other hand, if the gal is cold and silent with displeasure, then that is punishment and an indication that I must change my actions. (My wife has taught me so much.)
So ladies, including you very quiet ones in our group, you may or may not have just obtained increased awareness on how to handle us guys. (Many of you already knew.)
All us guys have to do now, in my opinion, is make it safer, and make it feel safer for you ladies in addition to RidingBlonde Liz to communicate within the Forum.
Any suggestions?

I have not posted for a while and I seem to have lost my bonus membership. I would like to be reinstated if that is possible.
I read this continuing discussion with some amusement. I have been around for some time, was married (widower) for over twenty years, dated numerous women, and even have several female friends. I find that I still have no understanding of the female of the species and what makes them tick. The person who wrote that men are from Mars and women are from Venus could not have been more correct. That still does not change the fact that I have nothing but admiration and respect for the opposite (a totally appropriate description in every sense of the word) sex.
I have posted several times on this board about my observances and experiences with shoulder riding. My personal preference is to have a lovely female perched high on my shoulders. A close second is to watch one female supporting another in the same fashion. I thought I was alone in this particular fetish until the advent of the internet and learning of other's passion for this past time through groups such as this one.
My own personal opinion, for what its worth, is that men generally prefer the physical aspect of lifting and carrying. It is often associated with a rite of passage into manhood. You can see it in young males as they start to explore their masculinity. I can remember my first experience as an 11 year old giving the 15 year old sister of a friend a lengthy ride in the pool. I have witnessed many other youths, particularly pre teens, who are eager to prove their physical strength by giving shoulder rides to their mothers, aunts, older sisters, cousins, etc. For some males, myself included, this activity remains a pleasureable experience to be enjoyed throughout our life times. Personal involvement, observations of this activity, and pursuit of same become a passion that occupies our daily thoughts.
Women seem to be more in the moment. Their enjoyment is tied to the feelings that they have toward their carrier, the circumstances of the ride, and their own emotional state at the time. Their pleasure is rooted in the whole experience of the actual ride; not in the anticipation, afterglow, or fond rememberances. I have given multiple rides to a number of females and the reaction has ranged from sheer ecstasy to rejection based solely upon their mood. This is obviously an activity, that while momentarily pleasureable for most females, that does not have a thought consuming role in their daily lives.
That is my psychological analysis of this subject from both male and female perspectives. It is offered free and is probably priced right. I will have more stories and experiences to relate in the future as I search the dusty archives of my mind.
Hope I can quality for a bonus membership!

Lindy, I think your psychological analysis of shoulder riding from the male and female perspectives is very perceptive, at least as far as it goes. But I'd like to add that an attractive, outgoing girl who is often invited by males in swimming pools, at rock concerts, and sometimes even indoors at parties (especially relatively noisy ones, it seems) can't help noticing another detail about her horse's interest, especially if he's her boyfriend or just a friend, or a fellow cheerleader, or even a stranger who offers to help her take photos over the heads of a crowd.
It's simple, really. Whenever my horse moves around while I'm riding his shoulders in a way that emphasizes the intimate contact astride the back of his neck, I sense that there's something erotic going on, sometimes quite explicit and sometimes wordless but unmistakable. Of course, a shoulder ride is lots of fun and gives a man a chance to show his strength, but it's also provides unusually close contact between the rider's thighs, even in public. As you've noticed, some girls, like me, respond enthusiastically, which I've found is often quite stimulating for my horse, and is perhaps the main reason he wanted me to ride him in the first place.
Certainly the excitement for me is "in the moment," as you say, but I like riding so much that I often think about it at other times, and even find myself noticing attractive men and thinking about what it would be like to ride them. In general, though, the overwhelming proportion of men in this terrific group seems to show that more men than women think about riding when it isn't actually happening. Still, shoulder riding can be so exciting for a female rider that I wonder why more women, at least those who aren't afraid of heights or being candid about their feelings, don't look for chances to ride and enjoy sharing their riding experiences with other people who are really into it.

Liz,
Good to hear from you! Always interested in the female perspective on this subject.
I believe that their are many females who like shoulder rides, particularly as a rider. I can tell from their reaction that there is more going on than just the thrill of getting carried.
The enjoyment is expressed in different ways; asking not to be put down, giving directions to her "horse", wrapping her legs tightly around her mount, etc. I previously told of a girl friend who got absolutely orgasmic and came close to losing her composure.
It is not only from experiences, but observations that I reach these conclusions. Watch a group of pre-teen or young teen girls for a while and you will often see a shoulder ride. Girl cheerleaders are constantly mounted on the shoulders of thier female or male counterparts. Vacation pictures often show young, and not so young, women smiling while perched high on the shoulders of their husbands, boy friends, uncle, sister, brother, or name your favorite family member. My point was that they are definitely are into shoulder riding; but the fantasy, fetish, or whatever you wish to call it, is not as prevalent in the female as in the male.
Sorry for the rambling. We are lucky to have you as a member of our group. Perhaps you could relate the feelings of some of your female relatives or friends if that is appropriate.
