True.  The problem is that at private pools, few people take safety precautions such as having umpires and others to keep "horse" and rider away from the pool's edge during chicken fights. Therefore, sometimes the rider (or ridress) hits his or her head on the side of the pool and dies. True, this happens seldom but even one time is one time too many so why not use safety precautions? We could escape the consequence 999/1000 times and then put it on the gravestone of the ridress that she escaped the consequence 999/1000 times.

What starts out as fun often ends up as trouble when we are careless. So when we have fun let us be wise and apply the lessons learned by others.

may be sea is a safer place for chicken fights.

no special meaning, just a female name. but indeed, she is a very beautiful woman:) but in common, Turkey is becoming into a more conservative country day by day, the scenes i used so see when i was a boy seem to disappear day by day. ( when i was about  10 years old, we had a cottage in the seaside just about 10 meters to the sea. It was very shallow until 100-200 metres into the sea. In the weekends, people came to the shore spend their time ther. lots of chicken fights used to take place. i even had trouble to catch the scene with my eyes, while watching a couple, i could see other girls falling down when i turned my head.

I'm afraid that it is the steadily strengthening impact of islamism in Turkey which tends to forbid public shoulder rides, mainly of Girls on boys,  Women on men ! Please, Lunarstrain, correct me if I'm wrong. I wish I would be wrong, but, alas, there are many other areas where religious intolerance is growing in Turkey, at the sole benefit of islamism, not Islam, which is tolerant, but islamism, which is not !
