Difficulties with Archive clips

I have returned from a 2-week vacation and am unable to download any archive clip, having had no problem before.  The clip begins to download then aborts and I get the following message when windows media player opens: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

Can anyone help with this?

Re: Difficulties with Archive clips

Hi Ben,

There might have been a temporary overload on the server or you downloaded a clip which you need to install a new codec for. Try using VLC Player if you have problems with WMP.

Re: Difficulties with Archive clips

Hi Nick
thanks for replying.

Something odd is happening here.  The same problem is occurring on every clip, even older ones that I've downloaded before.  It will start to download momentarily and then abort.  I'm completely at a loss with this. Any ideas?

Not sure what you mean about using VLC instead.  Wouldn't I have to successfully download the clip before choosing what to play it in?
