Re: shoulder ride gathering...

We talk about it but it will take some people willing to decide on a time and place that some are willing to go to.  Few have the money and time to do this.

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

The only way to do this-in this time of the credit crunch-is for people in the same country or area in the case of large countries
to get together.
No other way would work-but can you see members doing it-I doubt it-a lot of talk and not much action-we must all be politicians.

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

I think there are 2 different purposes with a meeting:

1) Just to meet up in real life to say hello and grab a beer.
2) Arranging big projects dedicated for several days and leading to travelling expenses.

I think we should forget about the second purpose. I think most of us are not willing to risk money and time for such an arrangement.

But I think it would not be difficult for two or three members here to meet up for a beer when they get an opportunity to do it. That may lead to a more organized meeting later involving more people when we get to know each other in real life. The best way is that we locate on a map where interested members live. Then if we feel like it, we can contact each other whenever we are passing by for whatever reason... vacation, family visit, business trip...

I think I need to do something about that... Sometimes one needs to push people to make some things happen. Once this community was very very silent, almost nobody uploaded pics or participated in discussions until the bonus membership was implemented. Then it almost exploded with activity. We just need to find that specific action needed to move forward. I'm sure there are lots of members here who would like to meet other members in real life. We just need to implement something smarter than a discussion thread.

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

The next time I will be in England, I´ll let you know about it in advance. It won´t happen until the next decade, but if anyone is interested in meeting me for a cup of coffee or a pint then, I´ll certainly show up.

It will take a little longer than 10 months before I will come to England the next time. Usually I fly to Manchester, but London will be considered.

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

A cup of coffee would be nice, but wouldn't some shoulder rides be even nicer?  Since the world is going nuts prohibiting shoulder rides at concerts and even some beaches, wherever the weather is warm would some informal gatherings in parks be a possibility?  For instance, in New York I wouldn't recommend Washington Square Park (although I've seen riding there in audiences watching performers, and even enjoyed some great rides myself), I'd recommend Central Park, particularly the Sheep Meadow which is grass instead of concrete and therefore safer.  It's also enormous and I've never seen party-pooping security people there.  How about picking a time and a grassy park anywhere in the world, and simply going there to enjoy some rides or just watch, as we please?  If there's a flaw in this idea, I hope someone will point it out.  Otherwise perhaps we could begin to get together, even in localized groups, and enjoy ourselves.  smile

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

Taurus,

Your perseverance and determination is so admirable. If you could just arrange to bring another ridress atop then maybe our prominent lady would consent contigent on her "dear horse" consenting to come. Then the ladies could temporarily exchange horses.

Best of luck but be good to her.

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

It's nice to see signs of enthusiasm!  In London, Hyde Park will certainly be a possibility when it stops being so cold and wet, but I still think that grass is a safer environment than concrete in case of possible falls.  Perhaps we need to consider how we want to approach photos and videos of our meetings, especially if they find their way onto the Web.  For me, as a professional musician, I'm uncomfortable about anything that might complicate my career.  I wonder how everyone else feels about it.

At least the cold weather in this part of the world is (I hope) on its way out, and we'll soon be able to enjoy some delightful SR activity.  I wonder whether any of our members have secluded pools and are willing to have some fellow enthusiasts over for a visit and some nice wet riding?  Of course, riding in the water is safest of all, and the privacy could allow us to feel less self-conscious or inhibited.  Any thoughts about that possibility?  smile

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

Hi-A pool would be a good idea-trouble is that there are not that many about here.
If we have a meeting-why do we have cameras present?-it is better to meet people and enjoy their company rather than record the matter for posterity-a photo call could come later-much later.
A suggestion- How about meeting for coffee-then we could see who or what we would be letting ourselves in for. Then take it from there.

Just a thought

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

Liz,

There is more than one celebrity in the world who was betrayed by a friend who violated a promise to not make certain photos public.

I do not know how you can guarantee that no cameras would show up at the beginning or come later when you are already shoulder riding a dear horse in the swimming pool or anywhere.

Possibly you can wear a face mask and cover your head in a grassy park. This may be less comfortable in a pool. You run the risk of getting the caption, if photographed, "The Lone Rangeress Rides Again."

Apparently you do not feel comfortable discussing, even in private confidence, with the leadership of your music group, how public displays of you shoulder riding in a thong bikini would impact them or the music group.

Too bad one of us regular participants is not the boss of your music group. You would have even more dear horses at your service and still have a good career with this music group.

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

Sam Your ideas seem a little over the top, when initially all that is involved is a cup of coffee.
Is there a point in recording the drinking of coffee-unless you work for Maxwell house.

Liz               photography

When two people shoulder ride-they do it for enjoyment at the time-I see no necessity for a photographic record of the event-
let the two or more people enjoy themselves in peace.

With regard to your concerns  about your career-then you must do what is best for you-your career is vital for you and anything that gets in its way must be eliminated.

If we have to rely on your written word- then so be it-after all -you and your career are the most important thing

I wish you every success in all that you undertake.

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

Dear Liz:

If you and Roger could show up with face masks and withhold your true identiities it may work. You could be El Leyende de Zorro y Zorra. Some celebreties such as Marilyn Monroe reportedly walked down busy streets of New York and of other cities without being identified. Maybe that was because their make-up was off at the time.

I suspect that Terri Nunn, Katy Perry, Alejandra Guzman, etc. do somethings so similar and we know they love to shoulder ride as they sing. I am also certain that they have staffs to  guard them  against stalkers, that is crazies that would hurt them.

I too find it so disgusting that a few bad people make it so hard on the many who just want to have fun with you and give you fun. There are so many more "horses" that would love to give you a great shoulder  ride and you would love to shoulder ride them if safety to you and your music career could be guaranteed. That is what you get for being polite and charming, describing yourself as being attractive, and indicating that you love to be shoulder carried. But, you already knew that, didn't you?

Also, why does classical musical always have to be expressed in Victorian style clothing? Japanese enka music has been sung and played in old style clothes similar to that warn by samurai of the past and in modern day Western style clothing. Someday, why not shoulder ride in a thong or string bikini as the violinist shoulder rides her "dear horse?"  Yes, security precautions would be prudent, difficult, and expensive. The alternative can be worse. I saw that Benazir Bhutto was getting careless with security and what was going to happen to her. Many of us still remember that Teresa Saldana got severely knife by a stalker.

No, I am not a security expert who runs a security service, I am not trying to refer you to one, nor is this is not part of a business proposal.

Besides, if you are truly happy with your life such that it is not broken, why try to fix it?

So many celebrities are divorced once or more,  on drugs, and like Howard Hughes did in the end, they live such unhealthy lives.

No, you did not state that you want to be a celebrity but that you want to enjoy one passion without damaging pursuit of the other. It just seems that only celebrities can afford the expensive security and bodyguards. Even if you shoulder rode a "dear horse" while you wore a thong bikini and played classical music with a violin, it would be difficult for you to sing with a violin against your chin such that the lead singer would probably have to be another ridress on a "dear horse." Maybe you could still wear a mask and use a stage name to guard your privacy.

Oh well, at this point it looks like I only get to imagine giving you a sweet shoulder ride as a "dear horse" pursuant to my aforementioned requirements of course which are that your man consents, my lady consents, and you give a shoulder ride to somebody else that enjoys it, even if that is a child.

Of course, based on how you described yourself, you have already received more shoulder rides than I can even dream of giving and certainly do not need to abide by my rules to get shoulder rides. You rule and we know what I can do about that.

Your last epistle seem to be based on doom and gloom-it would be far better to be a little more constructive-or let Liz get on with her life as she wants too-after all she has to live it and it would appear she is doing a good job.
Long my she keep it up.

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

Taurus,

I do not know how to be more constructive and more truthful at this point. Maybe you can tell me how. I too acknowledge  Liz's  right to live her life as she deems fit as long as she is hurting nothing and nobody, and have no indication that she is hurting anybody or anything, regardless of what we say or do.

I too doubt I have anything further of value to add regarding why she may or may not want to shoulder ride one of us participants of this website.

Liz, wishing you a long and happy life whatever you decide to do. Wish to continue to hear your charming comments.

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

Dear Sam, Taurus, namaegaaru, and all my friends,

Thanks for your concern and your kind wishes, as always.  I love my work, I play with several different ensembles, and people enjoy my violin playing; but I'm a very minor celebrity, if I'm a celebrity at all, and people expect different things from different kinds of performers.  If I were a rock singer, I would certainly love to ride during my solos, and hope that people would see TV appearances and photos of me and like what they see.  But imagine what it would be like to see a newspaper photo of a string quartet together with another one showing one of the violinists looking sexy in a thong astride someone's shoulders.  The United Kingdom seems to me a little conservative about stuff like that.

It's true that we could wear masks when we meet (I wonder how I'd look in a Dracula mask), but would that attract even more attention and also interfere with our peripheral vision?

I'll be on tour until the middle of next week.  I hope when I get back I'll see some signs of real possibilities for members of this fabulous group to get together and do what we love best.  smile

No, I am not suggesting that you dress out of place with these classical quartets. I doubt that Terri Nunn or Alejandra Guzman would be allowed to perform and pose with them in usual Rock and Roll attire and be considered actual members of these quartets. This would cause this quartet to star on tabloids and lose some of their audiences.

You would look like a feminine cutie in a Dracula mask. I believe, but have never tried this to verify, that a mask with slits around the corners of your eyes and high enough holes would allow you peripheral vision. Maybe a scarf over your mouth and nose and a cowgirl hat that makes you look like a member of Jesse James' gang would better do the trick. But, you may want to keep your "dear horse" and you away from banks." Maybe a mask of the Lone Rangeress and a white hat would be better but I doubt you or most Bobbies nowadays ever watched The Lone Ranger except maybe in cartoons. Oh well, your dear horse would probably prefer to run for you in the park where there is room. Ride-em, Cowgirl.

Are you inclined to come to this group or are you just hoping for some postings of photos and videos? You know that we want to know.

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

Liz, if I am making you uncomfortable, my apologies in advance. You are welcome to email and politely tell me how you want objectionable comments restated. Polite and kind ladies are emotionally painful to not cooperate with. They rule. That is why I gave that shoulder ride to the seven year old girl that was born about the year you were.

You certainly have the right to look only at videos and pictures posted if you choose, in case that is what you, Taurus, are getting at. If not, Taurus, what is the nature of your objection in that many of us would love to know if Liz comes to such a gathering and would love to have her there? Taurus, maybe you can email me too to counsel me, sir.

Liz, I remember you stating that you object to being the subject of gossip. The only way I can avoid that entirely is to avoid discussing you in third person which is often difficult to do. If avoiding being the subject gossip means to you the avoiding of being discussed in third person in a negative manner, you have done a wonderful job of that. Of course, there will always be somebody that objects to something that all of us of humanity have done whether the objection makes sense to all of us or not. This too I am sure of.

I was once sure of one thing only, that we will all die. Now I am also sure that you will avoid drawing gossip to yourself by posing on shoulders in a thong bikini with a string quartet.

Sam-I would not presume to council you-you seem perfectly able to work things out for yourself.

If as you suggest that is what Liz wants-then who are we to presume to try and influence her decision.

I suggest, that we let the matter rest and let Liz get on with her life - if we are to be involved in it- in any shape or form-then so much the better.

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

Hello all,

man from Turkey promised to arrange me small donkey (I know many of you are not intrested in to see women riding on donkey but that is one of my dreams) so I tavel to Turkey next July in Alanya IF he manage to arrange donkey. He promised me I can ride on his shoulders as free so my dream comes soon true. All I want is to meet you there and I hope you let me ride on your shoulders! This my holliday will be the best I can ever imagine IF I get shoulder rides too. One man can't carry me enough, so much as I want so I need more men because I want have long rides also in pool, in beach and everywhere - I can't wait! REALLY if all goes well, that could be one possibility to meet you.

If you have joined in my group, you can read more. I got woman called Mary in my group and I think she likes the same as I do, want have man between thighs and ride on shoulders, that is soooo cool and erotic, gives us much pleasure and is fun! Liz, if you could come too and so many men as possible, we could arrange much fun like shoulderriding competition who is the fastest, chicken fights, to men who can carry longer wild woman on shoulders etc....or am I too childish ;-)

As always, I'm grateful for your concern.  I play the violin with several groups, and sometimes for large audiences.  I think if I asked conductors of big ensembles how they would feel about my being photographed riding someone's shoulders in a thong, they might worry a bit about my sanity.  On the other hand, if I were a rock singer, you can bet that I would jump at the chance to ride during my performances.  I even think that it might enhance my popularity.

I really hope that there can be some group meetings in a public place like a park or beach.  I don't even think we need to identify ourselves as group members; we can even remain anonymous.  If people see some riding going on and happen to like it, they might want to join in even if they're not aware of the group's existence.  A message from another member got me thinking: there are lots of light, athletic blondes in the world, and if you see several of them riding, how would you know which one was me?  I think this informal approach would make it comfortable for members and even passersby to have fun riding, and I'd enjoy that more than making myself conspicuous with a disguise.  (I can just imagine people thinking to themselves "Who's that crazy lady in the mask and the wig?")

If a very informal meeting can be agreed on for a particular time in a very public place like the south end of the Sheep Meadow in Central Park in Manhattan, I think it's likely that both male and female riding enthusiasts, seeing some riding going on, would wander over and very gratefully take an opportunity to join in the fun. It might even attract all of the combinations that people enjoy -- WOM, WOW, MOM, MOW -- and give them a chance to share the excitement. Does this sound like it might work?

Re: shoulder ride gathering...

I believe you out thought me on this one, Liz. I prefer your idea of being unidentified among several attractive blondes to be a better way of hiding you identity than my idea of you showing up with a disguise.

May you have much fun doing this.
