I'm a pony myself so I would like to know what riding styles riders prefer. I imagine it is on a spectrum going from very soft, almost vanilla riding to very hard Master/servant riding. Feel free to add a comment about your riding style and how you imagine the ideal ride.

I'm an heavy rider (115 kilos - 254 lbs). I'm a male and I ride only on male ponies.
Usually I start with shoulder ride untill the pony collapse, then all-4 ride, and when pony collapse, I continue to sit on his back, after a minute the ride restart.
When pony is totally exausted, if service is not good enough I trample on him, or just sit full weigh on his abs with my feet resting on his face

I'm a rider. I love to ride my pony till exhaustion. Usually ponies give up midway. I push them till they have the last ounce of strength and finally collapse. Apart from the excitement from riding which everyone feels, the thought of my pony giving their ultimate best to satisfy me not worrying about their physical strain excites me more. And once the pony collapse, the pony crawling to my feet to be nurtured and taken care of gives me even more excitement. I will be one riding my pony and I will be one to nurture my pony back to strength. This total surrender to me trusting my dominance and my pony strongly believeing that I will do whats best for both of us. This is what I like. Not just physical surrender of my pony but also their mental surrender.

Coming to what type of rides i prefer, i do prefer a few styles of riding
Shoulder riding usual way and also on one side rides.
Squating with me on shoulders
Two legged ride with back parallel to the ground (not piggy back ride, pony's hands wont be there to grip me. I will freely sit in back with back bend flat for balance).
Pony riding with arched back
Pony riding on neck
Little Galloping shoulder ride
Shoulder bounces
Midway shoulder balances
While riding i do love to use a riding crop to hit my pony.

Thanks for the replies. They are very interesting for me as a pony. Keep them coming!
Looks like riders also enjoy four-legged riding. As a pony I always let the rider decide on how to ride me and I have been ridden on shoulders, piggy-back and on all four. I have also tried the all four neck riding that fanOfUSR mentions with a very light rider (50 kg). It's challenging but in a nice way for shorter rides.
I now wish I made a poll for both male and female riders. Would have been interesting to see the difference in style. My guess is that male riders are more dominant (with male ponies), but maybe the female riders would surprise me and prove me wrong?

Ofcourse ponies who can give neck ride only deserved to be ridden. Like you mentioned under 50kgs. Thats my weight too. I don't advocate heavy riders trying that. If my pony has good strength i would love to try reverse neck ride too. Sitting on neck and little bit on back of head facing the opposite side of the pony. Riders legs can be kept behind pony hands to give pony free movement to crawl. If the rider is small like me maybe they could slide down back of head for a moment to make pony feel the ride.
