I tiotally support Mike40's comments, that story is very good and just CANNOT stop where it is ! The monastery is still very far, a lot could happen before they reach it ! We should have a lot of occasions to asses again and again the incredible efficiency of the whip to smother any attempt of revolt or carelessness from those lazy beasts ... I also really appreciate that some men joined the riding party, and on the upper side of the saddle ... Not that I would personally favor being ridden by men, but in real life, most Women are usually connected with men, they don't live alone, nor go in vacation by themselves. Therefore, men have to be present, and the poor guys, who, as you wrote "were born with a saddle on thier backs" don't have a choice, they must carry them too ...
