Ok,I figured out the next best thing as how to download the photos from webshots...When you click on a photo,click (link to it)..After this,click on the square that gives you the largest possible picture,which is the number 600 pixels...when you do this,just click on,,, preview this size..and then you can download it..This takes a few seconds longer than just clicking on a photo..This is the best I can do for now,unless someone does find an easier way..

This is only a technical problem with Webshots at the moment - the ability to right-click and save the full size image has temporarily gone. You can still save it by locating the IE save icon that usually appears on the top left hand side of the picture if you go off & back onto the picture. You could not do that if they did not want people to save pictures - it is only a minor technical glitch I think. Should be fixed soon.

Sadly Webshots is but a shadow of its former self - a fraction of the pictures it used to have which is a shame. Flickr has the best selection of public sharing photos now. A good example - in 2005 there was 1,000 new pictures labelled "chicken fight" in the search facility put up over a 7 week period in June-July. So far for the same period this year it has dropped to around 20 or 30 at the most. Most of the teens and college kids have deserted this site for MySpace and Facebook as those sites are totally interactive. Its a sign of the times. Technology keeps marching on over time.

I search on webshots and flickr on a daily basis..Beach,summer,and so on...9 out of 10 photos which I do find and put in our group,is from webshots...Not flickr...I have gone through all the beach and summer photos from flickr using the advance,which you can search for pics using any date...Believe me that I only found a handfull of pics ,and must have gone through 3 yearts worth of  pics...The problem with flickr as some of you know is,that when you search page after page for a certain title search as ,pool or beach,it stops showing you any new photo after 170 pages..So,you can have 10,000 photos lets say for the day on beach search,but it will only show you 4,000 photos..So in reality,we are missing out on 6,000 photos and possibly a shoulder ride photo here or there..This is one disadvantage with flickr....So,let's not give up on webshots as I said, 90% of my photos do come from there...

There are many such pics on flickr. You can detect this pictures because there are no magnifier symbol above the pic. If you use Firefox you can right click on a free space of the site and choice "save whole site". You will get an HTM file (such as xyz.htm) and an folder wit the same name. In this folder are all pictures of this site. Now you only need to search the right i in tis folder.

Thanks Walter for putting up the picture for us - very nice - and just to show you my software works, I have now also put up the large size version of the same picture.

So, if you see a spaceball-protected picture on Flickr, let me know and I will grab it for you.

There is heaps of new pictures all over the place at the moment - it is Summer in the USA though so I am not surprised.

Nick - Unfortunately, it does apply to all browsers. Flickr gives users the option when opening an account of having their pictures not being able to be downloaded by certain groups, either public, family or friends or just themselves. I found this out when opening an account there. There are some stunning pictures posted to Flickr which sadly, cannot be downloaded direct. With the work-around though, a nice size version of any picture can be downloaded.

The print screen option and pasting the page to a word document does work, but the quality of the picture you save will not be the best.

Gunde - if you do find the pictures you are talking about, please let me know and I wil save them for you.
