Guys, please get out there for a festival and offer a girl to give a shoulder ride! Since I am French, I do not hesitate to ask for a shoulder ride from a strong man, even if it's a stranger for my favorite song!

But most of my fiends with whom I go with, Japanese (since I live here for a while), are hesitant to initiate, but very happy to take it when offered. (I myself also would feel bad when I occasionally turn down the offer).

I posted several Twitter/Insta photos in a separate thread. Most of them are posted by women. Use some online translation and see what they say. We simply crave floor it: just offer us for win win situation!

(Most of them also say how wobbly it is on the shoulders of Japanese men and how stable it is on Foreigners!)

Nice to hear that shoulder riding is popular also in Japan. Maybe I should visit next summer. Can you recommend any Festival?

When I was younger I went to a couple of Festivals every year and I often offered shoulder rides to girls standing next to me in the crowd. Most of the girls answered yes. Probably because I'm a big guy and I drink moderately so the girls could see that it would be safe :-). So guys, please get out there. It's easier than you think!

EDC in the spring looks interesting. Might be able to go.

How would you suggest to approach a japanese girl and offer a shoulder ride? I'm asking because there is both a cultural and a language barrier and I'm not sure they will react like girls from Scandinavia (where I come from).
