Concert ride

While attending a concert  Dec 3rd  I was on the floor of the arena. After the show started  2 guys  stood by me watching. One of them leaned in and asked if he could get on my shoulders. I nodded yes and stooped down so he could get on .As he positioned himself I stood up lifting him up easily.  I'm guessing he was  in his early 20s and about 170 lbs. After holding him up several minstrel his friend that was with him started climbing up on us to get on his buddies shoulders. I did sway some asort he made his way up finally getting up on his friends shoulders while on my shoulders.  Another 140 - 150 lbs . Our 3 man tower  stayed up for about  another 90 secs before letting them down. They gave high 5s and thanked me. The one I first lifted up asked if I wanted up on his shoulders and I eagerly replied YES. He squatted down and I climbed on and Sat patiently  waiting. He struggled  some and after his second attempt he lifted me up briefly.

Re: Concert ride

Great story, thanks for sharing! I had a similar experience at an open air beach concert this summer, but sort of the reverse of yours. I was the one in his early 20s, 165 pounds. This guy Jim was next me, in his late 20s-early 30s and 200-210 pounds. He was the one who asked ME if I wanted to sit on HIS shoulders with his camera and take some pictures and videos. I agreed of course. He crouched down, I climbed on, and he lifted me up.

He held me through 3 songs, about 15 minutes. He even swayed and moved to the music ocassionally, bouncing me around (a few minutes of video I was taking were probably shaky as a result!)

After he put me down, we high fived like you did, and I asked if he wanted to get on my shoulders now. He said, "OK if you think you want to try!" I was clearly lighter, slighty taller and slimmer than him, so he might not have thought I could hold his weight. But I did, for almost a minute. My knees were really buckling by the end however!

Re: Concert ride

Thanks! I'm sure you could probably hold me for around 15 minutes as well.

Re: Concert ride

Yes, that is the best arrangement. When one gets tired the other can take over. My friends and I did that many times growing up.
