Shoulder-sitting or shoulder-riding?

Here in the UK we have just had a bank holiday. So my long-time friend came to see me and I had some rides on his shoulders. The weather wasn't very good (cloudy and cool with occasional rain - British bank holiday weather!) so I rode around on his shoulders indoors. One other thing I did was just sit on his shoulders. And I really enjoyed doing that.

I sat astride his shoulders with my legs hanging loose rather than with my feet tucked in behind his ribs. Sitting on his shoulders with my legs hanging down loose meant that I could fully enjoy the sensation of sitting astride his shoulders. That got me thinking. Is just sitting astride a pony's shoulders as good as if not better than riding around on a pony's shoulders? The advantage I found when I was just sat astride his shoulders rather than riding around on him was that I didn't need to concentrate on balancing so that I didn't fall off or worry that he might trip up and I'd fall off him.

Have other members tried just sitting astride a pony's shoulders while the pony either sits or stands still? If so, have they enjoyed shoulder-sitting as much as shoulder-riding?

Maybe I shouldn't say it, but when I'm just sat astride a pony's shoulders and not actually riding his shoulders I really enjoy sitting there flexing my legs and thighs to increase the pleasurable sensations...!

Re: Shoulder-sitting or shoulder-riding?

As a carrier I can say I get enjoyed by any kind of sitting but it should be associated with control by rider .

It can be rest between rides or may be watching/reading/eating/calling while sitting on horse.

Any kind of weight on me as a carrier I like.

Thanks.

Re: Shoulder-sitting or shoulder-riding?

Being carried is obviously the  point of  sitting on  someone's shoulders  and I agree with Trigger  that the rider should be in control regardless of whether the  person  he/she is sitting on  is moving or  stationary. I don't see  the  service of the  carrier to be any different  than that of  a  horse or donkey  except of course that  normally  the carrier  chose his position  beneath  his master.

Sitting on  another  person is  fun regardless of  how your sitting on  him  and  it  implies a position of  dominance and  control  regardless of  the basis of the relationship.   When  I was  being  carried  by  my friend's  submissive friend, his distain for  being beneath  me  brought about a resentment of  him   but also  a feeling of control  and  dominance even though it was  my  friend's  control of him  that  put him  beneath  me and he  could have made me  get off and ended  the ride if he really wanted to.
But when  we  rested  our respective  carriers , I  dismounted on the  first rest period  while  my  friend remained sitting on his hunched over  carrier, basically  using  him as an inanimate seat . I knew  my friend enjoyed  sitting on  people ,  which I  assumed involved  the  sensations as well  as  his dominant  control of the  person beneath  him.
Because of  my carrier's  clear resentment of  me,  which he  demonstrated  previously , I treated  him  similarly during the second rest period and though  I  dismounted rather than  sitting on  his  neck  while he knelt  as  my  friend did  astride  his  carrier,  I  made it a  point to sit on  his  hunched over  back  rather than  standing  as I had  previously. Because of the  position,  I didn't have my full  weight  sitting on  him,  but  enough to burden him and  make  him  less  comfortable and demonstrate  my disregard  for  him.
Please  understand  that normally I  would have  been kinder  to  my  carrier,  but this  man's behavior  annoyed  me.

Re: Shoulder-sitting or shoulder-riding?

It's interesting what Audreyb says. I presume that Audreyb is female? If so her experience is similar to the experience of a young female and her boyfriend, both of whom I worked alongside many years ago while doing a summer job.

Her boyfriend was a guy in his late teens who, while on the part-time summer job at a yachting centre, had a friendship/relationship with a gay guy in his early 20s with whom he also worked.

Not unnaturally, the teen guy's girlfriend resented his friendship/relationship with the slightly older gay guy. But the gay guy did things for the teen guy that his girlfriend didn't like doing or didn't want to do. So to keep her happy, the teen guy told the gay guy to do things for his girlfriend one of which was to give her shoulder rides and let her sit on his shoulders. The girlfriend particularly liked doing the latter.

Unlike the submissive guy that Audreyb rode and who resented Audreyb riding his shoulders, the gay guy actually liked the teen girl sitting on his shoulders and occasionally riding on his shoulders. She always wore tight blue denim jeans so it was easy and comfortable for her to sit astride a guy's shoulders.

At the time, I thought that the teen guy's girlfriend (and she was a teen herself) liked sitting astride the gay guy's shoulders (indoor while watching the television) partly or even mostly because he had to let her do that and she knew that and she also knew that she had control over him and because of that she'd regularly sit on his shoulders watching television for half an hour or longer even when being sat on for that length of time became uncomfortable for him.

There again, the gay guy may have enjoyed the experience of being dominated in that way by a girl in her mid-teens. Presumably, not many gay guys of any age would ever normally have that kind of experience with a female. Happily, a few months later she started having horse riding lessons and switched to riding real horses!

Re: Shoulder-sitting or shoulder-riding?

Yes I am  a heterosexual  woman . Normally  I'm  dominant in  most of my relationships and that is  partially what  brought me into contact with a  certain  group that included several overtly  dominant gay men  who became  my  friends because of  mutual interests.
We are  not interested  in  each other in a normal  sexual manner obviously, but  rather enjoy our  normally kinky  but  basically  harmless and  consensual activities.
They enjoy  my  dominance much as I  enjoy  theirs.  It's actually rather  difficult to  explain and  I'm  not certain I  fully understand  it myself. I have  stopped trying to  over analyze it since it's  simply  mutually  enjoyable  and entertaining.

I find  your  posts  interesting since  you admit to being openly  gay and  seem to  enjoy  the dominant aspect of sitting  on  and riding men and  enjoy  the sensations of  doing so. I have  never  met a  heterosexual man  who admitted to  enjoying riding on  shoulders so I have  no  idea  if they  do.  It can't be any  secret that girls/women enjoy such  things  for  various reasons  though  most  are  not  overtly  dominant.
I  can only  guess that the  teenage girl  you mentioned was  asserting herself into the relationship between her  boyfriend and  his gay  friend and perhaps  asserting herself as  in  control of the situation by  literally sitting on  top  of the gay  man as in  asserting  control. The gay man perhaps  accepted his  use in this matter  masochistically . This is  of course only  a  guess  on my part.
