"Thank you!" or "Thank you very much!" - any limit to this??

Moderators,

Is there a forum rule that actually limits the number of times the same forum member can reply with a "Thank you!" or "Thank you very much!"

If such a rule doesn't exist, is there at least a recommendation?

It's a waste of time to have to click on threads and find no value addition, just mere "thank yous" over and over again.

Some guidelines would be appreciated.

I agree, no need to open some topics for nothing - wait to see new clip but there is nothing but boring text which cause dissapointment ;-)

BUT

there is another side in this "problem"

sometimes people like to give also coments, usually positive about good finds, talk something about clip  which can increase communication and can be intresting to read for others
if somebody find nice clip what he likes, it feels nice to know somebody else like this clip too

Yes, certainly bergt, I agree with you totally that some clips are so epic and just plain awesome, that one can't resist saying a thank you. by doing so, other forum members are in turn more likely to view the thread/click the link and the resulting interaction is very positive, especially when other members post additional links that are similar. so that's great, no doubt, but that's not what I'm referring to.

I'm referring specifically to when a certain forum member with more than 1200 posts, with a substantial number of those being just "Thank you!" or "Thank you very much!" then it really doesn't add up, from a usefulness point of view because it just bumps the thread up to the top and shows up in bold as unread, when we log in, then we click on it just to find nothing more than the same "Thank you!". To me at least, it starts getting frustrating after a while.

The admins are familiar with this problem.

Many of our members have little or no skills at all in the English language. The member you are referring to is one of them. I know, that he uses one of the online translators whenever he writes more than "thank you".

Sometimes we delete some of those comments and we certainly don´t count those comments when granting bonus membership. Please have some patience with those (like me) whom have another mother language than English.

Perhaps it makes sense to do something like this as a Like on Facebook, and not to create an additional post for thanks

On the other hand,it normal practice, when something is done for some one,to say thank you.It is deemed polite, and that of course is next to godliness.
