Re: Hello World

It´s nice to find out limits!! My longest carry was 20 minutes with a 190lbs guy! That was nearly one mile!  Heaviest was 300lbs in 4 minutes! Lifted from floor! Only a short walk in room, most standing with him! I´m 175lbs myself! Had carried longer times, but with small guys (140lbs). Like to try for long carry on my shoulders!

Re: Hello World

Had in all my life a good body for loads! Never been a sportsman or so! Can say that I am a natural constructed human pony! Then that I had 52 "weekend" meetings with a lot different riders, since september 2008, had built up my skils to carry on shoulders. Riders from 63kg to 135 make a lot different kind of carry! Long rides (up to 30 minutes) whit small guys and sometimes only standing with heavy riders (or 2 riders!) Those 2 guys I had meet mostly, is over 80kg each, and together I had carried them for nearly 200km, during this years! In beginning of May I get more smile One 95kg and one 64kg! I and the smaller one plans for do a lot of walking in Munich....no, I walking!! The meaning is that when ever go somewhere, he do it on my shoulders! A dream come trough for me!!

Re: Hello World

Hard to tell! Only carried in Germany and Netherlands! Can not understand what they talk about smile But normaly, most people ignore it! Sometimes I can see they looking at us, and shake there heads a little. Many gives a smile! Had never feelt uncomfortable with all people! I had carried my friend Ralph in the middle of Munich! Its funny to walk through the crowdy Marienplatz! Many smiles and some take pics! Next I going to carry long distances in Munich. So we will see (and hear) the reactions of our long rides!

Hi shouldertaxi. Here's the crazy idea that popped into my head yesterday seeing your nickname.  Its probably totally impractical, and unimplementable, but here goes:

Imagine a member or group of members who love to be ponies.  They go to a tourist frequented or crowded place, and offer themselves as ponies.  They have signs, placards, and sell rides of 10 minutes say for $10 for a 150 lb rider, $15 for a rider of up to 200 pounds and $20 for a rider up to 250 lbs.

They have an album of pictures carrying previous riders so that a prospective rider knows its for real, and the best part... Each rider gets a free t-shirt with a cartoon sketch character shoulder riding the other, and the tag line could say "I rode a stranger in Paris" or wherever the ponies are living.

The name of the company, printed on the reverse of the T-shirt  could be "ShoulderTaxi Inc".  The ponies get to enjoy giving several rides to willing strangers, and make some money doing what they love and the riders get to enjoy a novel experience.

Any comments?

You should try this idea at a music festival. It could work! If I could find a solid lifter for rent at a concert, I would hire him to get a better view! : )

Re: Hello World

Yes, long time now! My light rider in May had to get to a job, so I did´nt get him sad Ralph is always there, so I had some carry with him. I´m not so well trained anymore, after stoped working for 16 month ago, so the rides was not as good as before! And, when he was sitting and bouncing on my left shoulder, I get wounded! sad After that I have to take it easy with carry sad

Great rider!! You are really a lucky guy! I think I can have her on my shouders, but not lift her from ground anymore as I did before!
