Ultimate shoulder rides

I just uploaded into "Others" a sketch (scanned from a scholarly publication) of a damaged figurine from about 1100 or 1200 B.C., depicting the Egyptian god Bes riding on a naked dwarf's shoulders. This odd item goes to show that shoulder riding has very old antecedents.
