Did any other members of this forum (apart from me) see the TV news report yesterday (26 June 2013) on RT (Russia Today channel) about the news reporter who sat astride the shoulders of a victim of the current floods in Pakistan (or was it India?) to deliver his news report? It looked like the flood victim was standing in the flood waters so that the male news reporter could keep his feet dry. Or was the news reporter just using the flood waters as an excuse so that he could enjoy sitting on the shoulders of the flood victim? Maybe the news reporter is a member of this forum?

Gyulasziposz already posted about this in "New pics, video clips and links" section of the forum under INTERESTING DOCUMET-CRITICISES MANS REPORTER SITTING ON SHOULDERS.
I always like to see a man sitting astride anothers man shoulders, but in this case, if you read the article and hear this character blaming his cameraman, he got fired for good reasons. Shame on him.

This story is one of the most disgusting things that I've ever heard!
It's a pity that the "reporter" cannot be punished more severely. Getting fired is too small a punishment for such an inhuman piece of rubbish.

yeah.. agree
although i am not familiar with the hind culture from this point of view, but i guess it is rude-- our friends from india here on the site could tell more.

A TV journalist in India has been sacked after delivering his report on floods in the north of the country while sitting on the shoulders of a man who had lost everything.
Narayan Pargaien's former employer, News Express, said he was guilty of "grave misconduct".
It said what he had done was "not just inhuman, but was also against the culture" of the channel.
"You cannot ride on someone's back for a story. We terminated him on Tuesday," the head of News Express said later.
While the video was not broadcast by the TV station, it was anonymously uploaded onto YouTube where it has been viewed thousands of times.
Mr Pargaien insisted the man had been paid and had wanted him to show the damage to his home.
And while the journalist admitted his part in the filming, he was also keen to pass some of the blame onto his cameraman.
He said the cameraman had not done his job properly because the report was only supposed to show him from the chest up. The villager was not meant to have been in shot.
More than 1,000 people are believed to have lost their lives in the heavy flooding in Uttarakhand state.

Thanks Am6 for the video.
Well, Hind culture says nothing about this situation.
Shoulder riding is not an offense in India,
but I think something was wrong with this guy.
He was talking about the hardship these people are facing and at the same time he chose to sit on shoulders of one of them.
I don’t know, why that frustrated man who had lost everything might have agreed to keep him on shoulders,
may be due to craze of coming on TV, I guess.
And the reporter seems to be really dumb to think that nobody will notice this.
And the camera man seems to be jealous of the reporter, so he shot the full figure instead of from chest as suggested by the reporter.
Actually he should have resisted and prevented the act from happening instead of shooting it.

Please help me with my alleged and possibly true social retardation.
If this shoulder ride was consensual versus coerced, and I believe it was consensual, then why is this a serious offense?
If the reporter was a beautiful woman on such a man would she be fired from her job?
If I were the boss I would warn him in writing to not do a serious offense again and then fire him the second time unless I had to choose to sacrifice his job or sacrifice many jobs in my organization due to bad publicity.
Even then I would try to reassign him to another job if that satisfied our customers.
I think he failed to predict the reaction of the viewing public but had no evil intent.
One reportedly said that he who has never done wrong may throw the first stone at the alleged prostitute.
Besides, why was she a prostitute. Because she seriously needed income and nobody would allow her another way to get it?
To judge without trying to completely understand is easy. To completely understand takes much more time and work.
This same one also reportedly said that to do what is right is also much more difficult than to do what is wrong.

Sam, you are totally right, she wouldn´t.
I think what he did is bad taste, but I also think they may have overreacted by firing him.
I think a serious warning and a reassignation would have been enogh. Unless this wasn´t his first offence, of course.

just as donadoni said: bad taste.
he did no crime.
just while the entire village and people's houses were under water, they lost all their values, he wouldn't stand in the water with his noble feet (while his "horse" had to)
so its not crime... just very bad taste.
