I was just wondering what is it about shoulder riding that's so pleasing.
(this can be answered from any point of view, weather you're a carrier, a rider or a spectator)

Why is it when we see someone on someone else's shoulders what is it about it that makes us turn our heads and in anticipation for them? is it the joy they have, the power the rider has over the carrier (or vise versa?) or could it be just the sight of one straddling another's head?

idk but i know i enjoy seeing young ladies enjoying their rides on the shoulders of their friends, be it a wom or wow, if i do say so myself because i enjoy seeing them have so much fun with each other and it can be soo funny at times and so on:)

but yeah i just want to know what catches our eyes about these rides.

I guess it's many things... but as a pony, to me the loss of power is definitely the most important aspect: suddenly I'm turned into a dumb animal who lives and struggles for the comfort and pleasure of his Mistress, who can use and humiliate me as much as she wants... wow!

I could easily do that every day of my life and always love it.

Whenever I see two people, one riding on the shoulders of the other, the first impression is that these two have got togerther and are having some fun. The last time I saw two such people was towards the end of last year. The young guy who was sat astride an older youth's shoulders was about 14 years old and it looked like the youth who was giving him the ride may have been his older brother; he was about 18 years old. They were clearly enjoying themselves and laughing as they clambered up a rather steep cliff path from the beach below. I guess that the shoulder-riding on that occasion was probably a challenge to see if the older youth could manage to carry the younger guy all the way up the path. He could!

There are other sorts of shoulder-rides, of course. I suppose seeing a scantily-clad young female sat astride a guy's shoulders at an outdoor pop show would be regarded by many as an erotic sight. Particularly if she was wearing cut-off denim shorts and had her bare thighs clamped either side of the guy's face.

What I particularly like about shoulder-riding - either doing it or seeing it happening - is that it is an ambiguous activity. No-one, other than the rider and carrier, knows exactly what either person is feeling or experiencing while they are doing what they are doing. That, ultimately, is the enduring fascination of shoulder-riding... and why this forum exists...!

in my opinion .. when I saw a woman sitting on the shoulders of men, I feel jealous of the lucky guy .. because when our heads are in crotch women, the situation is so sexy ... but in the same time I love to see the situation in feeling jealous ..

One observation I'd make is that a few years ago while chatting to three working-class married family men (so presumably they were 'straight'), the topic of women riding around on guys' shoulders came up. From what they said, there was the assumption by them that a female sat astride a male's shoulder was s*e*x*u*a*l. Although quite a few members of this forum would agree with that, I thought it might be helpful to give this example as showing that this is what many guys think when they see a female riding on a guy's shoulders.

Most 'straight' guys, from the comments they make when they see videos and the like of a female riding around on the shoulders of another female, is that the females are lesbians. Presumably, an older guy (as opposed to a boy riding on another boy) would be regarded in the same way (i.e. as 'gay')? In this latter category, the Taiwanese guy (god524057) is a good example (Youtube or xtube).

i think being a leggy-thigh lover helps somehow but still can't explain that much, my favorite kind is concert where a girl actualy ASKS a random guy to sit there, like its normal to put her thighs around the guy's neck, sometimes with short shorts or skirts...

There is something very erotic about a female sat astride a guy's shoulders. A female sat on him in that way means that he will be able to feel her thighs (naked or clothed) on each side of his head. He is also likely to be able to feel her mons veneris pressing up against the back of his neck. And, just as important, he may feel her responding to the sensuous or sensual enjoyment she is feeling from sitting astride his shoulders. Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway!) the guy may even gain enjoyment by experiencing or breathing in the female's bodily odour bearing in mind the very close and intimate way that the female is sat on his shoulders. All these things combined means that a guy who has a female sat astride his shoulders is likely to find the experience very enjoyable. More so if she is extrovert and dominant...!

Well, Here I totally agree with Centaur but in the exactly opposite way.
I would love to ride on other persons shoulder because he (or preferably she) would be doing an extra work just to make me more comfortable.
The other person is working extra hard just for my enjoyment. This fact excites me.

For me carrying other persons weight is ultimate form of submissiveness in which the dominant actually gets some direct benefit.

Like Niz, I feel jealous too but again in an exactly opposite way.
I feel jealous of the rider who is enjoying on the mount, especially if a male is riding on a female.
And same like Niz, I still like to see it!

I also agree with Centaur-the rider is definitely the boss,and us ponies are there to do her/his bidding.I have been a willing pony on and off for the best part of thirty years,and I started off carrying people mainly lighter than myself.Most were content to sit up there and just enjoy the ride,but a few would put their hands over my eyes and try to steer me one way or the other.
Since I joined this Forum(and Im very glad I did),all the people I have carried have been heavier than myself,and consequently I havent been able to carry them for as long a time,but I think that they have appreciated this,and made allowances for it.
Lovetoride,Im really sorry that you havent managed to find a good pony in that vast country of yours.Keep searching-dont give up!
