After weeks of rain and freezing weather here in the UK, yesterday (Sat 26 January) was sunny and mild and I had my first shoulder ride on my faithful pony-guy. At lunchtime (12 noon) we walked 10 minutes up the lane in the heart of the New Forest to the olde worlde Inn where we had lunch and drinks. As we sat there eating our lunch (huge portions of battered Haddock and chips) two real pony riders rode up to the front of the Inn and dismounted and tied their ponies up and left them while they came into the Inn (or what's know as a 'saloon' in the Wild West) just like cowboys did in those old Western films. The two pony riders, incidentally, were two young ladies in their late teens. One (who was a blonde) was wearing the tighest blue denim jeans I've ever seen! They looked like spray-on jeans! To be honest, I nearly left my meal and ask her if I could give her a shoulder ride. But would she want to ride a guy when she had a pony of her own? Her horse was a male pony - that was obvious because the pony seemed to be in a state of arousal. So was I! Alas, after 45 minutes, along with her friend she rode off on him rather than me. As the weather was still lovely and sunny, my pony-guy gave me a few more rides on his shoulders through the trees in the New Forest. What a great way to start the year!
