Ultimate shoulder rides

The thing about shoulder-riding is that it is an ambiguous activity. In other words, shoulder-riding can mean different things to different people depending on why it is taking place and in what context. Shoulder-riding can be done as horseplay by children. It can be done as a celebration at a sports event where the winner is carried on another's shoulders during a victory parade. It's done, too, on the beach and at swimming pools where (mainly) females are given rides on their male friends' shoulders. We know it's done at music events where, again, females (mostly) get hoisted up onto the shoulders of their male companions. All these sorts of shoulder-rides are done either for fun or a purpose other than for the gratification of the rider or carrier or both. That brings us to other reasons for engaging in shoulder-riding either as a carrier or rider - gratification. Is there anything wrong with that? Well, some may say so. Some people disapprove of anything that others do that give them pleasure. Personally, I like the fact that this sort of activity is ambiguous and that whenever it takes place... it keeps everyone guessing. I'm never sure whether a young 'lady' (for the want of a better word) who is sat astride a guy's shoulders at a pop music event is enjoying the music or the shoulder-ride the most - if only we could read her mind!
