a woman's perspective/real experience

Most of the people in this group are men, by far and away.  Yet there exists
an occasional woman who enjoys shoulder riding.  (And I mean a real woman, not a
man posing as a woman on a Board just to get his jollies.)

I introduced S. to shoulder riding about a year ago at concerts.  She's
petite, in her 20s.  At our first concert she was up three times, maybe for
two songs per ride, and wanted to be near a wall.  By our third concert she
had found her balance and had no fears and was up for about 50% of the
concert (at least a half hour).  As we saw bands she liked, she would wait
for her favorite songs, then tell me to take her up so she could see and
sing along.  I know she's having a good time when she sings along.  Now after a
dozen concerts it's become natural.  She's okay when I walk around or shift
my weight beneath her, and she moves around to music she likes.  I usually
take a break every two or three songs.  At the beginning of a concert it's
every three, but toward the end it's every two.  The more she moves the more
work for me to balance us.  It's also easier for me when she locks her feet
behind my back instead of letting them hang in front.  She's had comments
like, "you have the best seat in the house," more than once.  I find jeans
the roughest fabric and I feel it on the back and base of my neck for a day
or two after.  But sometimes it's a good thing- it serves as a fun reminder during the
boring drone of a work week.  We come down immediately when we see a
mosh pit forming near us for safety reasons.  Rarely we've been told to come down by security, and
we avoid those venues.

I asked S. to share a few words, in her own words, about shoulder riding:

"Shoulder riding is prevalent at concert, parades, and even poolside activity.
Though it is constantly around, I never gave a second thought to consider
shoulder riding as a fetish.  But what a fun fetish it is.  Before meeting Jeff, I
had attended only a handful of concerts.  I never saw what all the fuss was
about.  My first concert with him was mediocre, nothing special in fact.  Jeff had
to ask me if I wanted to sit on his shoulders.  As our shoulder riding
relationship continued, we saw bands I liked; I finally began to understand the
excitement behind concerts and the fetish itself.  The more concerts we attended
together, the more comfortable I became with him and was able to let loose.  The
band would play a good song, and get me excited enough to signal to Jeff that I
wanted to be lifted.  Singing loudly and somewhat dancing atop his shoulders
were a clear signal I was enjoying myself.  The balancing act that once was a
feat in the beginning of our endeavors no longer exists.  He bends towards the ground and I just hop on, enjoying my favorite songs
from the best seat in the house.  And it truly is the best seat in the house.
Sitting in chairs or on a balcony is removing oneself from the concert crowd.
Half the fun is then taken away.  But on top of Jeff's shoulders, I get the best
combination- the crowd's vibe and an awesome view of the band.  Over the past
few months, I have grown to absolutely love concerts.  And when I do attend
concerts on my own, I never shy away from asking that random guy next to me to
put me on his shoulders now."

S. likes to get on by my squating down and her climbing onto me from behind.  I personally am more used to squating behind the woman and lifting with my neck (which is quite thick) between her legs.  But it's probably safer and healthier her way, although I'm a pretty strong guy.

Once we had a guy say to me, "I would never do that for a woman."  (She must have been on me for 45 minutes in total that particular evening.)  I smiled and didn't comment, choosing not to get into it with him.  I do think that most guys who do it at concerts find it a chore.  But I don't.  It's great.  And it's wonderful to have someone who enjoys it too.

I agree with you Jeff 100% ! For the guy who made that comment, he was jealous that you're strong and the bloke is weak. It's not a choir, but in honor!

The woman perspective is very fascinating to read about. Thanks Jeff for sharing us her point of view. It is important that the woman feels safe and relaxed on a man's shoulders, then the real fun begins.

Re: a woman's perspective/real experience

Dear Nick,

You've hit the nail squarely on the head.  I love riding guys' shoulders at concerts, but the real pleasure depends on some important things.  Without question, safety is a must.  I need to feel that there's absolutely no danger of falling.  The last thing I need is to ride some little kid who wants to show off how strong he is, or thinks he is.  Being light makes me easy to carry, but if my mount is unsteady it's distracting at best and terrifying at worst.

A second factor, which adds a lot to my enjoyment of the experience, is that I'm riding someone's shoulders because he WANTS me there, which he can let me know verbally, of course, but if he has his hands on my thighs and is moving comfortably beneath me in time to the music, not standing rigid or (worse yet) staggering around trying to maintain his balance, I feel that we're sharing the pleasure, which enhances it enormously.  If he's encouraging me to wrap my legs around him, and is leaning forward a bit, moving so that my weight is centered, not on the backs of my thighs, but in my crotch where I'm riding the back of his neck, I know that there's an erotic element in the experience for him just as it is for me.

Fortunately I've never had to ask anyone who would find it a chore to give me a ride.  Any girl who likes riding as much as I do can use the same approach that  has always worked well for me.  I think I've described it before on this forum: I just carry a little camera, and being 5'1" makes it obvious that I can't see over the heads of the crowd, let alone take photos without holding my camera in the air, aimed (with luck) at the stage and hoping for the best.  It also helps to wear something a little sexy, like brief cutoffs or tights.  Instead of my having to ask, if I'm alone at a concert, some very kind and enthusiastic guys have offered me rides that turned out to be absolutely fabulous, with the shared pleasure that makes riding so exciting.  smile

Re: a woman's perspective/real experience

Dear All Concerned With This Topic of Shoulderriding From a Woman's Perspective:

In your opinions, what would it take to get more women to participate in these discussions as the men do? What do you think deters women other than Liz? Are they afraid us guys will try to seduce them and put them at severe risk of being single unwed mothers?  Are they afraid we guys will try to hurt them in other ways?

Liz, I too do appreciate hearing from you.  You seem to fear none of the above and I suspect almost every one of your steeds did not seduce you or hurt you in any way even if they offered rides more frequently when you wore sexy outfits.

If I were not concerned about  upsetting my wife I would give lots of gals shoulder rides just for their smiles, giggles, hugs, caresses on my back and in my hair, and kisses on my facial cheek as long as they tried to be courteous, kind, and considerate of the feelings and needs of others with no sadomasochism whatsoever.  Any  attempt by them to be rude, selfish, mean, etc. would drive  my submissive desire to indulge them right out of me and turn me hostile.  Since I believe in doing unto others as non-masochists would have others do unto them I believe that those who would get shoulder rides from me (with my wife's consent) would have to give them to others.  So I doubt I will ever meet Liz and give her a ride. She on the other hand, appears to have a multitude of steeds at her service. Somebody must live this harsh life and it may as well be Liz.

Liz, you  appear to be one who is very skilled at making  it a pleasure for others to give you shoulder rides and to do whatever else you wish. If I were a woman I would want to be similar to the one you appear to be. I would have to return the courtesy and give such rides to others.

Hello, again to all of you who wish me well or ill.  I am a merchant mariner who has been way at sea for a few months which is another reason many women will stay away from me.

Anyhow, ladies, I doubt us guys can bite you or otherwise hurt you through posted comments without incurring the wrath of fellow group members.

Thanyou very much Liz for participating. Would the rest of you ladies please join in. Us guys are dying to LISTEN to you.

Nick, next time I can tell you when I will be gone for a while. Request you send me information via private email for reinstatement as bonus member and archive file access.
