That might have been a good sarcastic joke. But now, as experienced a carrier as I am, I know he was wrong!

So I started to write a reply which got so long, I have decided to start this brief compendium. To sum up our collective knowledge on the matter; How to find a rider? Let's start with female riders!

A good starter pack can be:

1. Any girl in on a concert or other public performance. Works best if you're a big guy and there is a thick crowd. It can help to have a camera and ask her to take a pic. A handy excuse. Difficulty: Moderate to HARD.

2. Cosplayers at conventions. They love to take photos with people. You may ask them to sit on your shoulders for the photo. Difficulty: Moderate.

3. Horse girls! Difficulty: It depends. It can be Hard. But if you're lucky or resolute enough they can be the best candidates for your permanent riders. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. For me, the key issue was I am an introvert. I don't make friends easily and maybe there are men who can walk up to a random horsewoman and ask if she'd like a ride on their back. I'm not one of those guys. But I made up for it with persistence and some luck, because a horsegirl I knew, incredibly turned out to have a dominant side and the first time I asked her to sit on my shoulders she refused. Leaving me embarrassed and even shyer than before. However. Many years later somehow I got her to try piggyback on me and she got addicted. And now I've got a rider.

Please keep in mind, that: 'Bitches be crazy' ;> Girls like to play. And they love ponies. Read the room. Learn how to dispel their fears and negotiate shyness. Theirs as well as yours. Always look out for opportunities. Don't lose hope. I once even gave a short piggyback ride to a stewardess on a plane!

So sky is the limit!!!

Hey dude, you have given a pretty good representation of how to approach a rider especially female but as much as I remember, the guy you are talking about (don't know his exact name) meant that one should not try to find a female rider on this particular forum as more than 90% of the members here are male and there are very very few female members in the forum and no one knows if they are really female or not so you can't trust them after all. I am not opposing your idea I'm just clearing a small misunderstanding as he only meant If anyone try to find a female rider on this forum they are just wasting their time.

Indeed... boys look for girls to fulfill their fantasies with, girls look for fantasies to fulfill with their boys. I am at least fairly certain that Audreyb and MissP are real. Arianeriding is still new here but I have high hopes for her. We can only hope and pray that our future is female.

The main difficulties when you are about to convince a girl or a woman to ride you are:

1. She may be shy. Try to talk to her. Probe her attitutude. It helps to know each other and be open and transparent. Some girls like to go crazy and they may jump on you of their own when timing and location is right. Others like to be courted and prefer to talk between the lines. Sometimes you may need to get to know her first. (For example my rider despite being dominant doesn't want to ride me in public so we need to seek opportunities outside broad daylight and busy streets.)

2. She is not in the right mood. We're all humans. And chicks have their moods. The timing and place is very important. Keep in mind that women are set to receive attention while men are the ones inclined to show it. Women make the time. Men make the opportunity. Sometimes she might reject your offer to give her a ride, but it doesn't mean she rejected you or or the possibility of riding you once and for all. Create a better opportunity. If she is into this whole riding thing, she will come forward with ideas of her own and assist you. If you know each other, be patient and keep working towards finding or making opportunities.

3. She may feel that you are seeking to dominate her. (She gets on your back or your shoulders and then she is in your power. You carry her away). That's why I like to mix riding with femdom. If the rider feels in charge, it is you who are doing her a favour. That makes her the one, who wants you to serve her. It is the perfect position for a guy to be in. WoM riding and carrying doesn't have to be about the female domination, but the rider needs to feel confident.

4. Safety. I've found many women may be reluctant to get on someone else's shouloders because they are afraid. They are afraid they might fall or that their carrier could might trip or slip. The risks are not huge but thery are real so besides establishing trust, it is wise to excersize the common sense. Pay special attention indoors where there is plenty of other people, objects, furniture, walls, edges and cornes one can hit, trip on or fall onto. Especially in bars, and during dance nights. When people get drunk accidents happen so best be sober. A spacious gym or outdoor is better. Soft surfaces like gress are great. Sandy beaches and shallow water is perfect.

I lack the experience to give you and answer1 but since you come to ask me like an expert I'll do my best. But keep in mind, I'm using my imagination...

1.) Any guy at a concert? Depends on a guy... maybe if you are able to make it feel like jackass kind of thing, bros are going wild it would help to get him on your back?

2.) Cosplayer should be the safest bet IMHO! They tend to be young, and your interest is a mayor wallbreaker. I can;t imagine a cospalyer getting offended at anyone who would want to take a photo with him, even if it would include shoulder riding.

3.) Hoesemen... I don't know any horsemen! My current rider (spoilers for my real life story saga!) is a horsewoman and she knows what she wants. Sehe said compared to a horse I'm like a tiny city car compared to a Mercedes. She is unwilling to sit on my shoulders because the position lacks stability, but she would ride me piggyback like crazy. If the horeseman is into theese shananigans, maybe if you fool around, he will agree to jump on your back, who knows!

It always should help to be bigger and tougher than your would be rider. So it feels secure, and it makes some logical sense. Wh's young and rather thin for exapmle, you are taller so you hep him see the scene!

Come to think of that I don't know if it'easier to ask a dude than a woman. With a woman there is the whole dimension of sex and romanticism, she may feel compelled to refuse you in order to not appear too easy. She may have a boyfriend and so on. On the other hand a guy may not take it kindly and others may think it's gay. But at least some guys should be more agreeable than women. Bro code! :>

If you have the opportunity and ability, learn to water ski well or dance professionally. You’ll have opportunities to give rides in either setting. Of course, these are not possible for many people…

Historically, the percentage of our membership which is male is not 90%, but 99%!

I see nothing wrong with paying somebody to get what you want, if that is the only or best option. It is not illegal or prostitution, as shoulder riding is not sex.

Another guideline!

I did not thoroughly research this one yet, but I think groups of young women could be even easier to approach than individuals.

The reason is women feel more secure in groups. When they are alone they feel voulnerable. So the ideal setup should be a small group of girlfriends wih no men and you. Girls like to act crazy in front of their friends sometimes so if you do it right the other members of the group might help you, and they will dare and encourage their girlfriend to ride you, so that they have something to watch!

With men it might actually be the oposite. A single guy might be asier to ask out for riding than a guy from a group. But once again, this is just a theory
