At a recent indoor show, Australian DJ What So Not called for "partners" on shoulders.
I uploaded a personal clip of it into the video section, called wsn.wom. It is a bit dark unfortunately. There are 10-12 women up.

I saw the EDM DJs Borgeous and WhatSoNot live recently. Borgeous did not call for girls on shoulders. WhatSoNot did call for women on shoulders and I posted some clips in the video section. I've seen WhatSoNot live 4 times and 2 times he called for people up on shoulders. I've seen Borgeous live 5 times and 3 times he called for girls on shoulders. Why they do it at some but not all events, I don't know...
When WhatSoNot does it, it is for the same song:

I can see that a lot of the girls took advantage of the opportunity to ride, but I wonder, how many of them knew the lifter before and how many of them actually was strangers? Also, was this the only time during the concert people rode on shoulders?

@Gunde,
Yes, exactly!
I think in most cases the people knew each other beforehand. In our area, women seem reluctant to s r on someone they don't know, people are naturally suspicious and cautious here. I did it at all three recent events with women whom I went with (and who filmed it). I asked a couple random women who declined. I think a lot of it is timing and luck - you never know when the dj will make the announcement, and you need to be near single women at that moment as it is generally dark, crowded and not easy to move around quickly. However, in other areas of the country, or other nations, I think it is easier to find a random woman who will accept (and appreciate!) a s r offer.
At these three events security was strict and would promptly take down any s r at most other times.
Even if you see 30+ s r, there are 3000+ people there, so it is still a relatively small number of people who participate.
Another good time for s r at a rave is at the end of a set when the dj asks to take a photo with the crowd. And security won't have time to act, as it lasts 30 seconds.

You can find a random woman (or man) who will aceept a sr at open air festivals, if you are very lucky, in Finland. At concerts with one band, sr can be forbidden these days. Might be for insurance reasons, don´t know for sure. Not that I go to concets very often any more, but when I go, I want to see sr.

Gunde, I was in concert some years ago in Finland and when one band which people had waited, come on stage, lot of girls started to ask random boys and men "take me on your shoulders" because they wanted also see this band.
