Hi Vaggelli,

With all respect, you are a valuable member here as you use to upload lots of new pics. But keep in mind that you are not an authority - members do not have to do what you tell them to do. If you want members here to listen to you, please have a more helpful and kind attitude.

I have seen several repeats in your own uploads to the gallery, I cannot mention now which ones as I have forgotten but they were clearly repeats so this problem cannot be avoided by anyone. There will always be repeats and we must live with it.

However, in order trying to deal with this issue, I suggest to create a 'glued' thread on top of the 'New pics, video clips, links' listing. You, Scotty and some others who know how to find new pics, can there explain how to perform the best searches using different search engines. This approach is something I'm sure that members here will appreciate.

Ok, Nick - agreed. This will be a very sophisticated system that requires an approriate logic in behind (if you don't want to do it manually).

A new suggestion:

Maybe this will help (combines some of the suggestions of Nick, Vagelli, Scotty and myself)

- separate folder/s for Scotty, and the other "Premium contributors"
- bonus folders and member folders (--> by the way we can discuss the need for a separation of members and bonus members)

Result: in this Premium folders you will find all the brand new pictures (for sure) and less re-posts
For all the other members there is still lots of pictures that can be seen in the regular folders.

I would suggest to grant read-only access rights to all members and read/write access rights to the (limited number of) Premium users for the "Premium Folders"

Obviously I will need to post with regards to this topic - unfortunately I have a bad cold at the moment and I have been bed-ridden all of today. Must be the freezing weather. As soon as I am well enough I will post new pictures again.

Vaggelli has obviously become frustrated with the way things are going in here and has expressed his feelings in a very forceful way. Vaggelli - I understand your sense of frustration but as Nick said, sadly picture repeats are unavoidable. We have many members who keep striving to retain their bonus membership status and they will post in here whatever they find and do not have the time to check whether the picture has already been posted in here or not. I don't think there is much we can do - xxx123yyy has some good ideas with regards to this, but I feel it will take administrators like Nick (who already obviously spends a long time keeping all of the tasks going that come with being the main site administrator and archivist anyway) far too much time to maintain. I do not know what the answer is. I wish I could take some long service leave and have a more active involvement in here, but my job keeps me away from here for far too long.

I will tell you what I do when I find a couple of hours to spend surfing the Internet (plus longer on weekends) - I check in here first every evening. Look at all the new pictures, always keep a mental note of what is new and what is not, save those pics I have not seen before, read the message postings and the links to videoclips usually on Youtube & MySpace & save those I have not seen before. Sadly, on the picture front there is neevr much I have not seen before, and much of what is posted is of such low quality & resolution it is useless to me. That is my main source of frustration here. If you find a great picture, PLEASE keep it at the same size as the original - I know there is a 4 megapixel size limit here, but far too many pictures I have to squint to see anyway, and I don't think my eyesight is failing yet. I know sometimes the original picture is of low quality, and I have found many & still posted these here myself, but PLEASE put the original size picture in here if you can. That is all I ask. If you are in here every day, you soon know what is new and what isn't when you look through all the picture postings. The trouble is, and I understand this, is that not everyone can visit here evry day - some only come on line once a week, or longer. We have to be respectful of that.

Vaggelli - you have obviously spent much time on sites like Flickr, Webshots etc looking for new pictures using very general terms like Summer, Pool, Beach etc. I know what this is like - it is much time for very little return. I do not think you should continue in that direction at all. Flickr, as I said before is a large site with many new pics every day, but it is for serious photographers and older adults in the main, so you will never find very much there. I generally just go to the newest pictures under the search options and look under terms like "Chicken", "Pool", "Shoulders" and other obvious terms. No need to go any deeper than that I think. The option of "Date added" I always use so I know I am looking at the newest photos first. Webshots - once a great site and the best for finding pictures for sure - traffic has dropped off dramatically though ever since they went with the new site nearly a year ago - they lost many customers with that change and they have never come back. There is still some good photos there, but not nearly as many - I just use their "Newest First" option that they have there as well, and you just can search the most recent pictures added. Keep in mind that the newest ones are not all added in order all the time - you need to keep scrolling deeper into higher page numbers, especially when using terms like Pool, Swim, Beach etc. Don't bother using terms like Summer, Vacation etc - I tried this for a day or two but there is just too many new pics going up every day at the moment (something like 30,000 new pics titled Summer every day) - better to use the "Album" option under newer pics for those, although the album search is only updated every few weeks at the moment.

Where people are putting up their pictures these days (especially the young crowd) is in the social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Bebo etc. This is where you need to be to find any decent pictures these days. Their search engines are very tiresome and cumbersome to use, ande you need to look through much dross to find what you are looking for, but the rewards are there for sure. That is where I find the majority of new pictures these days. It is where everyone is hanging out, not on sites like Webshots or Flickr.

Vaggelli - I would hope you still post in here - you still find many pictures we have not seen before - I would not worry about posting every day, maybe store up a few like I do and post them every week or two instead. You might find things a bit easier. I know you are frustrated, and yes, I know I do not post as often as I would like, but please stick with us - this is still the best (and ONLY) shoulder riding resource on the Internet. People come & go all the time, but we still have enough dedicated people in here that keep things going. We need to justify their efforts by continuing our presence here. I hope the search tips are of use as well.

Sorry for the tardy reply. I've been upgrading my computer. First of all,  I posted 55 pictures, to say that all of them were repeats is just utter nonsense.
Sure there were a few repeats, but just a few. After some research, I could come up with 8 repeats. Say there were 10, that means there were 45 new pics.
Do you look at the 45 new or the 10 repeats.

The last time I posted pictures, you got after me for repeats. I was not as careful as should have been. I took your comments to heart and tried to be extra
careful this time. I discarded several pictures that were repeats. I agree with you that we don't need endless repeats. I'm getting afraid to post pictures because
I know you are out there waiting to jump on me. Just kidding.

Just because you use different search terms, doesn't mean you are not going to get the same picture. I would like to know how other people organize their
pictures to avoid repeats. I have my pictures in one large file-13,000 pics. Probably not a good idea.

As a group, I wonder if we are approching a limit or threshold that all pictures that are suitable and readily available have been posted.

Ladylifter, I could not agree more with you.  For a long time I've wanted to find other people who share an interest with me, and I finally have, through this community.  I believe we are extremely lucky to have not only a safe vent for shoulder riding, but a CLEAN one...  one that focuses on the experience itself, not the kinky stimuli that often accompanies it on other websites.  Yes, repeats can be a frustrating thing (I'm probably guilty of it myself in the short time I've been here), but in the end, aren't we all just here to see some good shoulder rides?  Surely we can't be so selfish as to say "Give us new material every day" without sometimes just stopping to appreciate old favorites.  New stuff is always good, but it's the appreciation of it all that makes this place what it is.

I know I haven't been around here long, but please give these words some thought.
