Excluding Certain Types of Stories From the General Public, etc.

Nick, Louie, Gunde, Scotty, Travers, Equidum, and the rest of you, what do you think about this?

It seems to me that complaints about children reading stories involving sexual contact or feelings in any way could get this website shut down.

Do we want to restrict many stories to a bonus section? Some of them are considered quite sexual in nature.

Re: Excluding Certain Types of Stories From the General Public, etc.

I don't know what the Law says as regards children being given the opportunity to just READ sexual stories on any kind of  Internet site... I would believe that the site wouldn't be shut down, as it is more a matter of parental control ??  But I don't know ...

Now it is also possible to upload the story on Rapidshare for instance, and just give the URL to our site ...

But it would be a pity to miss interesting stories just because parents wouldn't do their job correctly ... ??

I agree with all that you wrote here, Equidum. Unfortunately not all people including those in positions of authority do.
What appears to protect against access from minors is that he (or she) who accesses has to click on an icon that states this person is of legal age, is allowed by law in the jurisdiction he resides in to view this material, etc. Yes, this situation is sad but failure to adjust to the reality may make the situation more sad.

I entirely agree-all such story's should be placed in an area of the site that is barred to children.
I ask the site administrators to make a quick decision on this matter.

Yes,i agree. There should be a place where all the adult content should be transfered and which should be accesible only from bonus members. And it should be done as quickly as possible.

Re: Excluding Certain Types of Stories From the General Public, etc.

If someone claims to be 18, we trust him/her unless it´s obvious, that the person is lying. Even a bonus member can claim to be 18 and only be 16. There´s no way to know.

I don´t find it necessary to create a new section for stories with adult content. I would leave it up to the poster to decide, if his/her story is overly sexual. If the story features detailed descriptions of sexual nature, it might be smarter to post the story to i.e. Megaupload or Megafire and then provide the link to it here in the forum.

I could also open the section for files in the Yahoo group, if members would like to post stories there.

Whether a kid lies or not is irrelevant. Even if he lies about his age we are still protected. We are not protected now because a kid is not even asked if he is of legal age at this point. How hard is it to have a bonus member section for discussions?

We have seen how easy it is for us to be led up the garden path
(riding blonde-Jockey jill)-Sam's idea is a good one-who says what story should be in which section-it would place a lot of onus on someone-to decide-I dont think it is something the postee can decide-but then who?.
Any ideas.

You are responsible for what you write and/or post, so you really should be able to decide, if it´s better to just post a link to the story.

We are hosted in a liberal European country and not USA, so this really haven´t been an issue, but everyone is welcome to share their view on this matter. Creating a new section is technically possible.
