You'll see a 6 minutes wom joust, and I really wish someone could explain to me the rules of that game ! There is only one winner left at the end of the battle, but I really don't know how/why he won !

Now, I would be grateful if someone could explain the rules of that GREAT game ! I noticed that the winner safely managed his "battle", by avoiding contacts, and remaining on the borders ... I also noticed that falling was not a reason to be eliminated, as a "horse" fell twice before he was eventually eliminated ....

Does anyone know whether this game is usual somewhere ?

Hello equidum, I believe the object of this game is to crack or crush a raw egg
which is taped on the forehead of the carrier. Meanwhile the rider must protect
the egg at all cost from being destroyed by other riders who carry a paper stick.
So no matter if the carrier gets tired with his or her mount on shoulders and take a 1 minute break, they are still in the jousting tournament as long as the egg is not crack.

By the looks of the video, it is a challenging joust which takes a lot of determination and luck for both rider and carrier to work as one. Then win the contest!

Waouhhhhh !!! I had not noticed the egg on the horses' forehead ! That's a fantastic game ! It should be taught and played on a daily basis in every primary school < and further on >, and the losers would of course have to provide the eggs for the following day !!!

Thanks, Dover, for the explanation . And you're right, winning the joust requires a great coordination between rider and mount .. I'm wondering who plays the main part ? I wish it could be the rider, but I believe it is the horse actually ?!

I overlook your second question. The jousting tournament is part of many type of wild or silly contest called, "Greek Games" which take place in American colleges or universities on certain days of the year. Now I don't know if all American college kids play this certain shoulder competition game. I think every college who have "Greek Games" as part of their tradition is different from the other.

If I undesrstand correctly, these games must be a real turn on for masochist carriers, because, firstly, they are reduced to the status of "horses", and are actually working very hard thru the whole joust under their happy riders, but also they are constantly receiving blows, in the face, from the competing teams who try to crush the egg on their forehead !

WHAT A MAGNIFICENT GAME !!!

I totally agree Equidium and thanks all for your picture links to other examples of this great game as well. I have posted a few old ones that are a couple of years old now but show the game being played during Spring Break by college kids down in Florida.

The game is even better when on the beach with sexy, bikini-clad girls as shown in the picture set (or at least one of the girls is in a bikini) - this is just so sexy and makes for a fantastic set of action pictures. The sexy, blonde, bikini-clad girl wins convincingly as well.

The thing I love about it is that the team who loses has the ignomony of having the egg smashed in the face of the guy on the losing team by the winning girl (and he is forced to release his rider) and has to then just watch whilst the girl who just did it to him proudly celebrating and looking at him whilst still riding proudly on the neck of her own mount.

This is just sensational.

Thanks Scottydl ! Your pictures are great, and the game is obviously even more exciting when played on a beach with girls in bikini, both for the players and the beholders ! As you said, this game is really SENSATIONAL, and I don't understand why it is not more widely known and played ! In France, I'm sure it is totally unknown ! And it seems to be an American-only pastime ... Too bad I'm too old to intiate it here .... :-((

Maybe some of the youth of France can be shown the videos, invited to try it, and if they enjoy it, the videos can be put on the counterparts of youtube in France. Youtube is also in France, right?

You're right about attitude, Namaegaaru ! The difference is that JFK didn't wish to go to the moon himself ! As for me, I'd wish to be an egg joust horse, myself, and, attitude or not, I know i'm far too old for that !!!!! BTW, I'm not sure either that Cl Sanders ever dreamed to have KFC in his plate on a regular basis .... ;-))

This being said, you're right again about teaching the youth to egg joust ! As soon as my grand-children are old enough, I'll do it !!! I mean it ...
