Re: Holiday in Washington

Thats great Ali! Hows your shoulders and back after all rides (how many hours totaly?) Hope your riders are softer then my last one! Do they like to bounce? For 4 weeks ago did my 95kg rider, bounce on my left shoulder as many times before, but this time it was to much!! A nerve in my shoulder get squished and stil hurts! Waiting for a "magnetic camera" look inside it! Hope it is OK, and only take long time to heal! You are in my age...so pleace take care, so you dont go to far!
Even after this I want to meet him again, but I think I have to carry light guys only sad

Re: Holiday in Washington

Shouldertaxi! That's very sad news. Best wishes for a fast and full recovery.

You have been one of the most active carriers, and one who pushed boundaries, a bit of a 'super pony'. Did this rider really bounce only on your left shoulder? (or both, sitting normally, but only the left shoulder was injured?)
It is easy for us carriers to feel invincible. unless something happens.

Re: Holiday in Washington

I hope you get better soon,Shouldertaxi, but these nerves sometimes take a long time to heal,so be careful! My riders didnt bounce on me,but because of the confined space of a hotel room,I was only able to carry for about 2 minutes at a time, with rests in between.Dont worry,I will know when my time is up!

I had meet this Munich guy many times, and he always like to bounce! Funny is that I like to be bounced, and had no problem with it, even on one shoulder! Only normal tired feeling in my body, but after a few days, back to normal again! I ended my "gym" (my work!) for a year ago, and had lost some strenghe in my upper body/arms. That could be the reason to this wound! If I recover, I had to carry smaller guys/girls then now! Max my own weight. And only shoulder rides!! Ali, thanks for wishes smile

Re: Holiday in Washington

Just to confirm that I rode Ali2121 last Saturday, just two days after he'd got back from Washington DC. He gave me several rides in the afternoon after he and I had a rather large steak lunch at ye olde New Forest pub... that pub is older than Ali (400 years old). That's the pub, not Ali!

I prefer to ride Ali2121 gently. To get on his shoulders, I stand on a convenient fallen tree truck and just slip astride his shoulders. The sensation of mounting him feels great. I just sit there and let him take my whole weight. He's really good. He's a fully trained and very obedient pony. He's a strong carrier. He walks carefully and diligently, which means that I can enjoy the most fantastic shoulder rides as he walks among the trees out in the forest. Sometimes I ride him with my feet tucked in behind his ribs. And sometimes I like to ride him with my legs hanging loose at his sides for more sensation in my crotch. Yes, I know I'm lucky to have such a good pony, Ali's in a class of his own. That's grade 1, five stars! I'd rather ride Ali than a real pony!

Your a lucky guy! I wish a rider like you when I´m back again! A nearby rider most be the best for both the rider and the pony! If I had one, I had been trained good, and not get hurt! Wish you both a lot of years of good rides!!

Re: Holiday in Washington

Hope you recover and get fully fit soon, shouldertaxi. You're one 'taxi' I'd like to take a ride with/on! I'm 70kg so probably just the right weight for you. When you recover, you are welcome to come over to England for a few days and you can stay at my place and I can take you out in the New Forest and ride you. There are lots of real wild ponies there (the 4-legged variety) so you should feel 'at home!'

Would be great to be your pony!! Share you with Ali. Near Southampton, I think. I´m intrest in Titanic, so it is good city for touristing. Hope I´m soon back for carry again, and 70 kg sounds good to start with!

Re: Holiday in Washington

Yes, Southampton has a Sea Museum. The city is an hour from me. There lots of parks criss-crossing the city centre so I might shoulder-ride you through one of the parks (with my sunglasses and a cap on!)
