Ultimate shoulder rides

having just returned from a weekend at the lake, I was disappointed in the lack of shoulder-riding activity.  Everything else was great, the weather, the food, my boys had a blast playing in the water and eating ice cream three times a day.  But seeing as how my opportunities to witness WOM rides are limited these days, I was looking forward to more action than I found.

Only one day did I witness any rides and it was the same couple time after time.  The girl was maybe 17, with a ponytail, and a nice even tan.  She was a short, stocky blond with a rather athletic figure.  The boy was much taller and with a mischevious looking face, I suppose around the same age.  He was also athletic looking and obviously a very good swimmer seeing as how he would dive up and over the waves repeatedly and seemed to have a powerful swimming stroke.

I had seen them at the snack bar and only thought they were a cute looking couple.  It was only much later searching the water that I realized it was them and he was in fact carrying her.  But here was the problem as I see it.  Every time he would come underneath her to lift her up he would only hold her on his shoulders for a brief time - maybe 10 seconds, then flip her off backwards.  Even when she came up behind him and pressed down on his shoulders to climb aboard again (surely indicating that she enjoyed it), he would hold her briefly and flip her backwards causing her to splash upside down in the water.

I wondered, if the girl so obviously wants to ride, why doesn't he let her ride and leave her be ?  I wish I had taken their picture anyway, as I would like to make more of a contribution to the group, but I don't have a digital camera and don't know how to upload pictures anyway.
