I'm looking to create a website much like this one but with a different topic. I run the KinkyProWrestling Yahoo group and would love to turn it into a site with the fourm pictures archieves and donate link just like here. I have a huge collection of files so i could upload them into the archieves and have people donate to see them like they do here.
How do i go about it? Completely new to the website building thing.

Hi Richy,
Start by purchasing a domain name. Make sure you actually will own it, not something you get "for free" - nothing is free and the cheapest option will turn into the most expensive one in the end. Usually, a package is offered which includes space for building a website.
Next, search for tutorials on how to construct websites using html. It is simple, just a few hours of training.
You can download and install a php based free script, such as PunBB which this forum is based on.
Regarding where to store a lot of big files, I would recommend a private broadband connection, install an ftp server on a computer running 24 hours a day.
Search for information and watch tutorials on Youtube to get started. Lots of testing and configuration but it is fun also. Good luck!

that sounds really complicated. Id want the site to run itself money wise id hate to loose money on it. how does this site go with donations?

If you want to run a website you need to put a certain amount of work into it.
Receiving donations is a way to make sure that all costs for server and bandwidth will be covered.
